Who?
Matilda Kalving is a doctoral researcher at Tampere University, working within the Human-Centered Technology (IHTE) research group, part of the Tampere University Computer-Human Interaction (TAUCHI) research center. She holds a Master of Arts degree in Industrial design from the University of Lapland, where she was awarded the prima master title for academic excellence. In 2024 she was accepted in to the highly competitive Finnish Doctoral Program Network in Artificial Intelligence (AI-DOC).
Her multidisciplinary background includes work in theatre licensing, graphic design, the television industry, and the design sector. She has exhibited her artwork at various festivals and exhibitions and has contributed to numerous interdisciplinary projects integrating technology and user-centered design. Before joining Tampere University as a doctoral researcher, she spent six years as a coordinator, designer, and research assistant in the Lapland UX Design research group at University of Lapland.
Her current research explores Human-AI collaboration in creative fields, focusing on how GenAI tools influence design, production, and creative writing.
